Married to her younger brother Ptolemy, she became mistress of famous emperor Julius Caesar. After his death, General Marc Anthony rose to power. Cleopatra instantly fell in love with him and before they could even realize they were embracing each other. Although their love outraged Romans and bothered Roman politicians, as they were against their union and were suspicious of Egypt's power. Together they exemplified power at its best. They aimed to rule the Rome. Despite all the pressure and criticism, Cleopatra and Anthony eloped in 36 B.C.
